2009 Influenza A H1N1 (Swine Flu) Information

The Clinton County Health Department is currently working in conjunction with the Centers for Disease Control, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, and area medical providers to increase communicable disease surveillance and prepare in the event that a public health response becomes necessary in our area.

Currently, 20 confimred cases have been identified in Missouri. The Federal, State, and local Health Departments are working diligently to detect further instances of this illness, and reduce it's impact.

Cleaning Contract Awarded

The Health Department has awarded the cleaning contract for the Health Department office in Plattsburg.

Lawn Mowing and Snow Removal Contract Awarded

The Clinton County Health Department Board of Trustees have awarded the contract for snow removal and lawn service to L & S of Plattsburg. The Health Department would like to thank the businesses who submitted bids for review.

Ongoing Peanut Products Recall

The Clinton County Health Department, in cooperating with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the US Food and Drug Administration, and the US Centers for Disease control is currently taking action to protect the health of public with regards to the ongoing peanut butter product recalls. These actions include distribution of recall information, and compliance surveys of inspected establishments to ensure that recalled items have been removed from commerce.

Community Emergency Response Team

The Clinton County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) holds it's monthly meetings every 4th Thursday at 6:30pm at the Clinton County Health Department. CERT provides an opportunity for the citizens of Clinton County to assist their neighbors in times of emergency or disaster. Anyone 18 years of age or older may join. Child Safety Seat Checks Now Available

The Health Department now offers Child Safety Seat Inspections. Inspections are conducted by appointment. All inspections are conducted by a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician. Please follow the link below for more information, or contact the Health Department to make an appointment.

CPS Safety Program

Meningococcal Vaccine Available

The Health Department has Meningococcal available free of charge for children 11-18 years of age.  This is available for a limited amount of time.  Please call the Health Department if you have questions, or wish to schedule an appointment.

The Health Department Collects Batteries for Recycling

The Health Department now collects rechargeable batteries for recycling.  Bring your dead rechargeable batteries to our Plattsburg office during regular business hours for proper disposal.

Batteries we will accept:  Any rechargeable battery weighing less than two pounds that is in good physical condition (no corrosion or leaking).

Batteries we will not accept:  Non-rechargeable batteries, car batteries, rechargeable batteries weighing more that two pounds, batteries that are corroded, leaking, or otherwise physically damaged.
